FIVE POINTS
Five Points is a program of transitional housing and job training for individuals needing reintegration into a wider social structure. Saint Andrew's provides an evening meal once a month to the approximately 25 residents in that program.
FOOD FOR LIFE
Food for Life is a program of SAAF (Southern Arizona Aids Foundation) providing meals for HIV positive persons unable to cook for themselves. Meals are prepared in St. Andrew's kitchen and are delivered from the church Monday through Friday. Four times a year the clients are invited to a community meal at St. Andrew's. Please contact Jeff Bailey at St. Andrew's (620- 6521) to assist in the preparation or delivery of these meals.
TIHAN
Tucson Interfaith HIV and AIDS Network is an Ecumenical outreach to persons who are HIV+ or who have AIDS. Persons volunteering for this program are trained to be buddies for clients to help them with the needs for daily living. Once a year we host the Poz Café community meal for clients, and we provide an opportunity for clients to obtain grooming and health care products (shampoo, tooth brushes, tooth paste, etc.).
FOOD BANK AND FOOD SHARE
Food Share is a low cost food program open to anyone. Food is distributed on the third Saturday of each month at St. Andrew's. Arrangements for food units must be made by the first Sunday of the month with Ruth Chaffin. Food units vary each month, but always contain a supply of meats, fruits, vegetables, and other staple items. Also, staple items are collected on the first Sunday of each month for distribution to the Tucson Community Food Bank.
PARISH PANTRY
The Parish Pantry serves people who are hungry. From our pantry, we are able to provide individual servings of meats, fruit, snacks, and juice to persons needing a meal. Grooming supplies (shampoo, tooth brushes and tooth paste are also kept on hand). The pantry is stocked by gifts from church members and dispensed on an as needed basis. If you would like to contribute food or grooming items for the pantry, when shopping please purchase easy-open package items and snap top cans. These may be delivered to the kitchen on Sunday morning.
